The director of Digital Solutions, Abeer Abu Touq, participated in the International Communication Conference organized by the Faculty of Media at Zarqa Private University on November 5-6, 2025, on the university campus, with the presence of a selection of media figures from Jordan and the Arab world.
Abu Touq participated as a keynote speaker in one of the conference sessions titled “Jordanian Media in the Era of Digital Communication,” attended by several local media personalities, including Dr. Khaled Al-Shakran – Editor-in-Chief of Al-Rai Newspaper, Hussam Barakat – Director of Training at Roya Academy, and journalist Amer Al-Rajoub – Director of Ain FM Radio.The dialogue was moderated by journalist Areej Al-Qassem from Al-Mamlaka Channel.
During the two-hour discussion session,Abu Touq spoke about the importance of keeping pace with developments in digital media, especially from local institutions, some of which have managed to achieve a qualitative leap through digital platforms, while others, including government institutions, have started to follow the same path.She called for the development and acceleration of efforts for digital transformation, especially as this world is evolving significantly.
In response to a question about the financial revenues generated from digital platforms, Abu Touq pointed out that this is an important element that media channels and entities in the private sector should strive for.It is essential to work on diversifying income sources to achieve sustainability amid fluctuations in financial resources for various reasons.
Abu Touq also emphasized the importance of continuous training for the human resources working in media institutions, platforms, and channels, and she highlighted the significance of investing in the capabilities of the new generation, which is continuously adapting to technological advancements, primarily in artificial intelligence.
At the end of the discussion session,an extensive debate took place between the speakers and the audience.Journalist Amer Al-Rajoub expressed his support for Abu Touq’s assertion that the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence technologies could make a positive difference in delivering the media message, especially to the new generation.
Dr. Amjad Safouri, Dean of the Faculty of Media at Zarqa Private University and conference president, expressed his happiness with the outcomes of the discussion session, where the guests talked about their practical experiences, enriching the media field that aims to present a meaningful media message to the audience, regardless of their interests.
