Abeer Abu Touq, from the Digital Solutions Company, participated in the Jordan Business Forum activities held on May 21-22 under the patronage of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Engineer Sami Smeirat.

Her participation was in one of the forum’s sessions titled “The Future of Jordanian Women in Volunteering”, which was moderated by Sereen Al Syouf, a specialist in youth work, The session witnessed the participation of Mrs. Suzanne Barbour.

During her intervention, Abu Touq explained that her work in journalism and later in digital media allowed her to closely observe and work with a select group of active women in Jordanian society from north to south.

These women have meaningful initiatives aimed at involving all community members in awareness activities with humanitarian goals. In response to a question from the session facilitator regarding the real role of media in the success of these initiatives, Abu Touq stated that media plays a significant role in highlighting success stories of successful women models in the field of volunteer work specifically.

This provides a role model for the new generation and facilitates their involvement in community-oriented work.

Abu Touq also pointed out that institutionalizing volunteer work, unifying efforts, and benefiting from each other’s experiences on local, Arab, and even global levels greatly enhance the tangible results on the ground. She called upon the media and community leaders to engage genuinely and consistently in positive change.

Abu Touq concluded that volunteering is a noble human act and has many positive aspects that inevitably impact all community members. Developed societies are keen to plant seeds of volunteering to harvest the desired fruits and results for the new generation.
